Lexi’s Story

Lexi grew up in Jacksonville but spent the majority of her life on the Westside, where she was raised as an only child—though with her parents by her side, they were always the three musketeers. She went on to earn her bachelor’s in journalism at UNF, turning her love of storytelling into a career that even won her an Emmy (yes, a real one!). These days, she works at the local Sheriff’s Office, still putting her wit and creativity to good use—just without the TV cameras. Known for her quick humor and infectious energy, Lexi has a way of lighting up every room she walks into.

Vinnie’s Story

Vinnie grew up on the island of Bonaire in the Dutch Caribbean, where flip-flops were basically formal wear and weekends meant ocean adventures. Trading island life for the U.S. brought a faster pace, but also fueled his creativity and love for trying new things. These days, you’ll usually find him outdoors—tinkering with cars, plotting a last-minute road trip, hopping on a plane, or convincing friends that “boat days” count as productivity. Always ready for the next adventure, Vinnie brings that same energy and curiosity to the people and moments that matter most.

Our Relationship

Vinnie and Lexi first crossed paths in 2023 on a Saturday night at Whitelion, where Lexi had stopped in for drinks while in town for a wedding. She and her friends headed to the cash bar—except Sean forgot one small detail: he had no cash. While Sean went searching for an ATM in another bar, Lexi ended up at Vinnie’s table by the door (his usual spot). Vinnie told her there was an ATM inside Whitelion, but Lexi argued there definitely wasn’t. Their very first conversation turned into a playful debate over an ATM, setting the tone for what would become their story. What Lexi didn’t know was that Vinnie had already noticed her the moment she walked in, looking unforgettable in a brown dress.

After some witty back-and-forth at the table, Lexi accidentally slipped up and gave Vinnie her Instagram handle (still no names were exchanged). That was all he needed—later that night, he slid into her DMs to invite her to brunch. Lexi declined. A week later, on Halloween, he tried again, and once again got a “no.”

Things weren’t looking too promising, but Vinnie wasn’t discouraged. Lexi even brushed off the London Jaguars game when Vinnie brought it up as a “we should go” trip.

The Initial Meetup

On November 4th, persistence finally paid off when Vinnie asked Lexi to go bowling. This time, she said yes. Their first official date was unforgettable—not only because sparks flew, but because Lexi almost literally took Vinnie out when she accidentally hurled the bowling ball backwards.

Luckily, he survived, and the two laughed it off as the start of something special. Lexi felt so comfortable with Vinnie that the date didn’t end at the bowling alley—they went out afterward to the beach bars in Jacksonville. When she hopped into Vinnie’s truck and spotted two pairs of handcuffs on the floor, she didn’t even flinch or ask questions. (For the record, they were leftover Halloween props from the weekend before.)

The first date (finally)

In early 2025, Lexi joined the Lendering family on vacation, and that’s where Vinnie first got the idea to buy an engagement ring. Lexi was aware of the plan, but after that, the timing was kept under wraps.

By June 6th, what Lexi thought was just a weekend trip to Miami and a Post Malone concert turned into a surprise proposal. The weekend took a lot of coordination—Vinnie made it his mission to pull off the impossible, since Lexi had always insisted no one could surprise her.

The Engagement PLan

The morning of, Vinnie was sweating bullets trying to keep calm while Lexi wrestled with a hair emergency. Once they arrived at the proposal spot, he had to stall and play it cool until everyone was in place. Just as the photographer gave the green light, Lexi decided it was the perfect time to talk about horse poop she spotted nearby—ratcheting Vinnie’s nerves up even higher. When the moment finally came, Vinnie dropped to one knee, blacked out from nerves, and somehow still managed to say all the loving things he’d prepared—ending with an inside-joke quip about a green card. Lexi said yes, and the weekend became a whirlwind of family, love, laughter, and an unforgettable engagement getaway.

The Proposal Day

Oh—and remember that early line about going to London for a Jaguars game together? In 2024, they actually did. Almost like Vinnie saw the future from the very beginning.

Now, after a story filled with persistence, laughter, travel, inside jokes, and a few near-misses with bowling balls, the time has come for the next big chapter: their wedding.
